Mehmet Güreli is a Turkish writer, painter, director and musician. He graduated from Istanbul University, majoring in philosophy. He started working for the Hürriyet newspaper in 1976. He is noted for his work across numerous art media. He is the brother of painter Talat Güreli and the nephew of writer Salâh Birsel. In 1973, he released his first album under the pen name "Mephisto". In 1976, he started working in Hürriyet newspaper. Güreli, who produced products in many branches of art, was known as the "decathlete" of art in the 80s. He published his first story book, Sicak Goz, in 1985.
