BETSY suspects that the man is abusing pubic resources. On seeing this, HENRY leads BETSY into telling him her story about the scar on her wrist. He further tells her that she should know better now about the duty of a doctor. MAN yells and demands to leave, yet he changes his mind as soon as he sees BETSY.
