Having been preordained by the Emperor to manage the troupe in the imperial harem, TSAU-YIN takes the chance to taunt LAU-FEI. Lady YUE-YUET asks BA-CHA to call upon her in the palace, confronting him with SEUNG-LING face-to-face. Without compunction, BA-CHA instead warns SEUNG-LING not to yell at him, which is such a major blow to SEUNG-LING that she lays ill in bed. Lady YUE-YUET offers a large amount of gratuity to SU-LAN and SEUNG-LING, asking them to leave the palace on the same day, and SU-LAN also buries her old grudges against SEUNG-LING out of pity. During her visit, Lady YUE-YUET tells SEUNG-LING that only one who reveals the truth of her hometown catastrophe is genuinely concerned about her.
